Struvite Control with Struvite Removal and Struvite Prevention
Struvite Removal offers products that include our Struvite Remover and our Struvite Preventer and Inhibitor for struvite control and struvite management in wastewater treatment.
Struvite Remover STSR
Non-corrosive, environmentally friendly and cost-effective leaving your operation struvite free. Struvite Remover STSR can be used in recirculations, soaks, low-pressure sprays, and foaming applications. Struvite Remover STSR has also been used for prevention with a dosage a typical 30-90ppm.
Struvite Preventer and Struvite Inhibitor STSP
Non-corrosive, environmentally friendly and cost-effective, which chelates the magnesium and struvite in solution, with an added polymer at a dosage of 30-90ppm leaving you to control struvite formation.
Struvite Control with Struvite Remover STSR and Struvite Preventer STSP
Struvite Removal offers products that include our Struvite Remover and our Struvite Preventer and Inhibitor for struvite control and struvite management in wastewater treatment.
With these two products that can also be customized, optimized and at different solutions, for your direct needs, you can remove, prevent and control struvite or vivianite scale occurring at your plant or operation.

Costly Methods of Struvite Control
A common way to remove Struvite is to simply replace the equipment. This, however, means much unnecessary downtime, labor, and equipment costs. Some have estimated this to be a minimum of $200 dollars for every foot of piping while excluding many factors into the equation.
The other more common option is to treat chemically. This can either include a Hydrochloric acid flush in an attempt to dissolve the Struvite during downtime or with ferric chloride to prevent it from forming. However, both of these come with great consequences. Both of these options are highly corrosive, hazardous, expensive and can create much greater problems in the long run such as ruined equipment, lowered pH, increased solids that need to be removed later, or now forming Vivianite with the added iron into the process.
Replacing Equipment or Hydrojetting:
- A lot of downtime
- Labor intensive (High costs!)
- If any struvite remains will grow and accumulate much faster
Using Hydrochloric Acid to remove struvite or vivianite scale:
- Highly corrosive
- Highly Hazardous
- Leads to damaged equipment
Using Ferric Chloride in the sludge feed to the centrifuge will:
- Change the % volatile solids in the cake
- Slow down the formation of struvite in the bowl and scroll area of the centrifuge.
- Change polymer usage
- Add iron solids to the cake (increasing dewatering cost)
- Additional sludge is formed
- Additional cost can be incurred with the use of caustic soda due to pH of centrate reduced by ferric chloride
Struvite Remover STSR:
- Non-corrosive to steel
- Mild irritant and safe on unbroken skin
- Safe and easy to use application (Low labor costs!)
- Environmentally Friendly
- Cost-effective and will not damage equipment
- The product can be used in recirculations, soaks, low-pressure sprays and foaming applications.
- Can be used as a preventative that is dosed between 30-90ppm

Struvite Preventer and Inhibitor STSP will:
- Not affect the polymer usage, has an added polymer
- Disperse the Mg so it is not available to form struvite in the bowl, scroll, centrate line, and centrate tank.
- Reduction of sludge generation and scale formation
- Reduce corrosion, labor, maintenance, and energy consumed
- Enable you to control struvite formation
